Facebook ask you to send them your nudes, to combat revenge porn

Send us your nudes, then we can protect you from revenge porn. That is basically the message form Facebook to it's users. They will make a digital fingerprint of your picture and block it wherever it comes up. Facebook ensures that they won't store the nudes and that the fingerprint can't be used to reverse engineer back to the original picture. It's seems weird that a company like Facebook, who famously makes money out of your data asks you for nudes. Maybe the could have better made the tool publicly available and ask you to send the fingerprints. It's a lot safer, and less weird.
